When you install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server on your network, the BlackBerry handsets offers you email, contacts and calendar functions fully synchronised with your MS Exchange Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes desktop. When an email arrives in the office, you will receive it instantly on your BlackBerry. When an appointment is put in your diary, it will appear live on both desktop and mobile. If you add a new contact while out, it will synchronise on your desktop when you get back.
