SpeedTouch SDSL Router - Enabling Ping

Enabling Ping on a SpeedTouch 610s

 

By default the SpeedTouch 610 drops external ICMP packets, to enable ping replies you need to change the ping rule under the PPP connection from “my net2 to “everyone”.

You will also need to disable the firewall or create the following two rules.

1. Browse to the Router (default IP is 10.0.0.138)

2. Go to Advanced and click CLI

3. Click on Firewall then select Rule

4. Click on create and enter the following information

  • Chain - sink
  • Index - 0 (zero)
  • prot - icmp
  • action - accept

5. Click Apply

6. Click on create and enter the following information

  • Chain - source
  • Index - 0 (zero)
  • prot - icmp
  • action - accept

7. Click Apply

8. Click Return to Menu

9. Go to Connections - Routed PPPoA

 

 

10. Select Routed PPPoA and click Hang-up.

 

11. Click Routing

12. Change the Connection Sharing to Everybody

13. Click apply

 

14. Click Dial-in

15. Click Save All

16. External Pings are now enabled.
