If you are getting the above notification when opening an email with an attachment, the following is the means to resolve this and view all attachments sent to you.
In Outlook Express, go to the tools menu and select options. In the Window that opens up, select the security tab, and untick the box marked 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus', and okay out of the window.
Hey presto, you should now be able to access the attachment within your email.
The one thing to beware of is that doing this does enable you to receive any attachment (viruses included), so it's important to ensure that you not only run anti-virus software on your machine, but that you keep it regularly updated - new viruses are released on at least a daily basis if not more frequently.
